Week Six Playlist
Wednesday marks the last day of my junior year. I have a summer to prepare myself for senior year. I'm already stressing, but relying on friends, family and my love of music to get me through it. Each of the songs from this week's playlist mean a lot to me.
.) "Stay Out" by Hit the Lights. I've always loved Hit the Lights, and they're even better with their new singer. One of my favorites to see live, and I adore this song.
.) "Faces" by Scary Kids Scaring Kids. Lovelovelove them, and this is one of their best.
.) "The Future Freaks Me Out" by Motion City Soundtrack. A lot of things about the future are freaking me out, stressing me out, and I feel this is aptly named.
.) "Lexington" by Chiodos. I cried the day Chiodos announced that Craig wouldn't be their singer anymore. He has the voice of an angel, while always pushing the limits, and the use o so many instruments is happiness for my ears.
.) "We Change, We Wait" by The Maine. An older song from The Maine. I was addicted to that album this time last year. I feel like a lot of things are going to be changing soon and I just have to wait around.
.) "Going Away to College" by blink-182. I will always love blink-182, and this is pure talent. It's simple yet so tasteful, and filled with things teenagers can relate to. They've always been able to create something no one else can quite imitate.
.) "Chain Me Free" by The Matches. I felt this song fit into the playlist. Not a whole lot else to say about them. They're alright live.
.) "Come As You Are" by Nirvana. I needed at least one classic, and this folds in pretty nicely. I'm relying on my friends to keep me sane right now, and they love me as I am.
.) "High School" by The Friday Night Boys. Older Friday Night Boys, still just as enjoyable. This was one of the first songs I heard by them. The more you listen, the better it gets.
.) "Such Great Heights (Original by The Postal Service)" by Confide. I thought that a screamo version of such a gorgeous song would kill it for me, but I have to admit, I somehow managed to love this just as much as the original. It has a unique spin and I love it.
